Belknap County 4-H Fair - August 13-14

James Robert (JR) Newell, 8, won a blue ribbon for his 10-month old calf named "Beauty" from Swain Farm in Sanbornton at the 72nd annual Belknap County 4-H Fair last year. This year's fair opens at 9am Saturday and runs through 5pm Sunday in Belmont.  Ed Pierce/Citizen

End of Summer Block Party

On Sunday, September 4th we celebrated the End of Summer with a block party on Mill Street.  


Who doesn't love the Beatles, and their early music is so fabulous!  The band, Studio Two, brought all of those songs to life during their two hour concert.

Friends brought picnics and a blanket or used one of our folding chairs. It was a wonderful night out to celebrate the End of Summer and Labor Day Weekend and there was plenty of room for dancing!

Community Wide Spring Yard Sale - Saturday, May 16, 2015

All yard sales start at 9 am.  Large central yard sale is located at the Belmont Mill parking lot and Tioga Pavilion area on Mill St. in Belmont (behind the Public Library).  Maps to all other home yard sales will be available at that same location for $1 starting at 8:30 am.  Contact Gretta Olson-Wilder, Town of Belmont Special Events Coordinator at 603-998-3525 with any questions.

Concert at the Belmont Bandstand
August 28th, 2016

A Sunday, August 28 concert at the Bandstand featured the 22 piece Newmont Military Band (www.newmontmilitaryband.org). Activities started at 1:00pm and music from 2:00pm - 3:30pm.

Concert at the Belmont Bandstand
July 2nd 


The Belmont Bandstand hosted the the first Fourth of July weekend concert held since the 1908 classic Bandstand was named to the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places.

More than 60 attended the three hour songfest, and Belknap County Commissioner Dick Burchell, who currently represents Belmont, visited with his 1931 Packard.


The concert featured Lakes Region musical talents Audrey Drake, Jackie Lee and Jack Polidoro (The Good Dr. Jack). 


Activities for the children were offered beginning at 4:30pm next to the Bandstand.

The concert was presented by the Belmont Heritage Commission with sponsorship by the John M. Sargent Fund, Belmont Parks and Recreation and the Belmont Public Library.

Cruisin' the Village - The first annual Cruisin' the Village event was held in 2011.  The day combines classic cars, great food, music, prizes, giveaways, raffles and trophies. Cruisin' Website.

Make a Difference Day

2008

Daffodil-File "Make A Difference Day" - 2008 was Belmont's premiere participation in the Nation's largest day of volunteering.  This now annual community effort has included planting over 4,000 spring-blooming daffodils in special community places including Sargent Park, the Library, Mill, Penstock Park, Corner Meeting House and Veterans' Monument.


Memorial Day 





Each Memorial Day, the Charles Kilborn Post #58 of the American Legion has a parade to honor those who died for the country, the parade marches to the monument where a ceremony is held in remembrance, guns are fired, and a bouquet of flowers is tossed over the Church Street Bridge.  Postcard History Series Belmont Diane M.
