Commercial Dumpster required for businesses and multi-family dwelling units
Attention Business Owners and Multi-Family Units (in excess of 3) – In accordance with the Town’s Solid Waste Ordinance you are required to have a commercial dumpster. It has been brought to the Town’s attention that there has been some misuse of our Curbside Collection program and commercial waste is being collected curbside. We have notified our vendor, Casella, that our ordinance does not allow for the collection of commercial waste and we have asked them to educate their drivers not to collect from businesses and multi-family units. If you are a commercial business or you have tenants in a multi-family building (in excess of 3), please comply with the ordinance and avoid a violation. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Residential Curbside Trash & Recycling Pickup

Curbside Residential Trash & Recycling Pickup is provided to one and two-family homes. Multi-unit (3 or more units) residential and all non-residential uses must contract directly with a private provider for this service.

Trash and recycling will be collected every week on the scheduled collection day. The contractor may run separate trucks for trash and recycling collection however both trash and recycling will be collected the same day. Trash and recycling must be curbside by 7:00 a.m. on collection day. Residents who have municipal curbside trash and recycling pickup can check the Pickup Schedule for the correct pickup day for their street. Collection is made from one side of the street at a time. Trash pickup will be rescheduled on Christmas, New years, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day and Thanksgiving (confirmed Sept 2017).
Any container up to 30gal in size may be used for recycling. It does not have to be one of the recycling containers previously provided by the Town. However, the container does have to be clearly marked "Recycling" or "Recycle" and recycling decals to affix to your existing containers are available at Town Hall for free. Please stop by the Town Clerk’s office to pick up your decal. Recycling materials should not be placed in plastic bags as they will not be collected by our contractor. For more information on what's accepted please refer to the Zero-Sort Recycling Brochure. Items NOT acceptable for Zero-Sort Recycling.
Non-trash items not eligible for curb-side pickup are accepted at Casella/Bestway Disposal, 43 Industrial Drive. No resident sticker is required. A fee may be charged. Construction and Demolition Debris or other materials that are charged by weight are not accepted on Saturdays - The scale isn’t open on Saturdays.
Casella/Bestway Waste Disposal is the current municipal contractor for this service. If you have questions or problems with your service you are welcome to contact them directly at 524-5881. However, please also inform the Town Administrator's Office of any problems at 267-8300 x 124 so that we are aware of the problem. 04/05/16
