Municipal Facilities Committee Information
|
In late November, the Board of Selectmen selected a new firm to assist the Town with the Police Department Project. Bread Loaf Corporation of Middlebury, Vermont was chosen and proposed floor plans for the building were recently shown at the Special Town Meeting held on January 11, 2007. Bread Loaf will be presenting to the Board a Guaranteed Maximum Price for the construction of the new building prior to the Budget Committee Meeting on Tuesday, February 6, 2007. In addition, the Board of Selectmen's office will be preparing another information flyer for distribution and we anticipate in addition to the Bond Hearing, which will be held on February 20th; holding a Public Hearing for viewing additional plans and scale model of the project. Please check back periodically for a date.
We hope the residents and business community of Belmont will support this much needed project and that the information contained in these flyers will assist you in understanding the benefits and costs related to the project and its impact on taxpayers. As you consider the information provided, please do not hesitate to contact Town Administrator Jeanne Beaudin, Police Chief Vinnie Baiocchetti, Selectmen Chairman Brian Watterson, Selectmen Vice Chairman and Municipal Facilities Committee Chairman Ron Cormier and Selectman Reginald Caldwell with questions or comments regarding the project. We look forward to discussing with you your thoughts on the project and hope you will support this important community emergency service facility.
